Harriet Cobb is a cake artist and the owner of Harriet’s Creations, a cake business she founded in 1993 located in the Memphis, Tennessee area. Prior to living in Memphis she worked in England and the Middle East. Her travels abroad have played a distinct role in her appreciation for all kinds of cultural holidays and traditions. Many other destinations such as Germany, Italy, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, Jamaica, Puerto Rico have continued to shape and influence her designs to this day.
Harriet has been a Wilton Cake Decorating Instructor, offering all their coursework classes, some of which are no longer offered. Harriet has studied under a number of accomplished sugar, chocolate, and cake artists. She has been in classes with Carol Ambrosetti, Chef Laurie Braddach, Keith Ryder, Chef Julie Bashore (Master Confectioner), Chef Nicholas Lodge, Chef Bronwen Weber, Chef Laure’l Silverberg, and Jay Qualls. She is a current member of the Retail Bakers of America, the Better Business Bureau, and the West Tennessee Sugar Artists.
Harriet lives with her husband of 40+ years who flies airplanes for a major airline. They have 3 grown sons, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter and grandson who live locally. Her passion for family runs deep and is a central tenant in why she loves baking for her clients’ special days.
